BracU ranks top 50 globally in THE Impact Rankings 2022
This year, Brac University has ranked Global Top 50 for the United Nations’ (UN) ‘Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 1: No Poverty’ in Times Higher Education (THE) University Impact rankings 2022. In addition to this, BracU has secured the 1st position in Bangladesh and 301- 400th place in the overall global rankings. The announcement was released on the 27th of April in London.
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a collection of 17 interlinked goals set by the United Nations General Assembly in 2015. It was designed to be a “blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all” and is intended to be achieved by the year 2030 globally. THE Global Impact Rankings assess and measure universities on their social, economic, and environmental impacts in line with the SDGs.
Previously in 2020, BracU achieved the Global Top 50 for SDG 1, in addition to ranking 201-300th for SDG 3, 201-300 for SDG 16, and 301-400th for SDG 17. At the news of this year’s rankings, BracU Vice-Chancellor Professor Vincent Chang said, “Brac University is fully committed to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, and we will continue to drive our initiatives in that direction.”
