NSU Pharma Fest 2024: BRACU B-Team outshines
On 6th November the North South University Pharmaceuticals Club organized an Inter-University Pharma Debate Competition as part of Pharma Fest 2024. Fourteen teams from different universities, including the University of Asia Pacific, United International University, Jahangirnagar University, and the State University of Bangladesh participated in the competition. Brac University B-Team emerged as the 2nd runner-up in this prestigious competition with an award of 10,000 BDT. The team included Rana Tabassum Sababa (Senior, PHR), Nafisa Tahsin (Senior, PHR), and Tahrim Afroze Zion (Sophomore, PHR).
This competition sought out young talented individuals who showcased their brilliance in critical thinking and debating important topics in the pharmaceutical world, one of the prompts that came up was “the benefits of personalized medicine outweigh its downsides”. Nafisa Tahsin (Senior, PHR), one of the awardees, described the experience as incredible and commented on her fellow team members, “Honestly felt like we have been a team forever, even though it was our first time working together.” Tahrim Afroze Zion (Sophomore, PHR), another awardee, also expressed gratitude for the event organizers and his eagerness to participate in more events. “Despite being the youngest in my team, no one underestimated me for it, which made for a very good experience throughout the tournament,” he said. Events such as this have been the perfect way to promote innovation and inspire students to think outside the box.
