Aryan Shrestha and his three bands
Music is sometimes our only friend during our times of sadness. Our only solace during a bad day. And sometimes, our outlet for excitement as well. But what drives a musician to do what they do? Aryan Shreshta (Senior, CSE) helps us by showing the man behind the guitar. He is a member of not only one but three bands- Gonje Fereshta, NAAD, and ‘অ আ ই’. His talent knows no bounds, with him performing the role of a composer, lyricist, vocalist, guitarist, and whatnot, depending on which band needs what from him.
He had been receiving music lessons during childhood, though he does not recall them so fondly. But eventually, his passion for music grew with his age. Sometimes, it gets tricky for him to manage his musical endeavors along with his studies and also the job that he currently has. He highlighted that he gets the support he needs from his family. Though he does have plans regarding his musical journey, there are no rigid goals he is aiming to follow. For him, he will continue doing as many projects as he can according to what his interest will be at that moment and also what his capability will allow him to do.
Participating in different projects allows him to delve into various genres he enjoys. This way, he does not feel boxed into a certain standard. Another advantage of multiple projects is that he can experiment according to the particular band’s needs, allowing his creativity to prosper in various directions. And, of course, he does have some releases coming up this year, which is a treat for his fans all around.
