Harry Potter Fest Day 2: The Magical Aura of ‘Bracwarts’ leveled up!

On the second day of Harry Potter Fest,  the students were more excited than the first as wizards, witches and muggles enjoyed the magic of ‘Bracwarts’. The feel of the Triwizard tournament kicked off as the Treasure Hunt started. Six teams, ten members each, flying without brooms from one part of the campus to the next, based on clues. After a nose-to-nose match, Team Red emerged as the champion. Fabliha Afaf Sarwar (Junior, CSE), who is part of the red team, proudly shared her experience by quoting, “The last clue was hidden in the MNS department as it mentioned ‘where numbers dance’” With excellent communication by creating a messenger group, the team worked in perfect sync.

The magical atmosphere on campus grew even more enchanting when the magic show started. The first magician of the event was Sheikh Tahmid Zaman who unleashed his spellbinding aura by guessing the colours accurately chosen by the audience. The second magician, Jawad Ehsan also evoked his magic by demonstrating the power of the subconscious mind. The third magic show was conducted by Saklain Hossain who wondrously performed his magic using food and lastly, the fourth magician, Azwan Mustafiz bedazzled the audience by getting himself tied up, evoking chuckles from the crowd.

In the poster presentation segment, three teams presented their posters on stage. “Breaking the Spell of Prejudice: A Call for Justice in the Wizarding World” themed poster of Nusrat Jahan Simin (Senior, PHR), Refat Hossain Rafi (Senior,PHR) and Saiful Islam (Senior, PHR) became the champion. The poster reflected real-life prejudices connecting to the ones in Harry Potter, highlighting the dire conditions of tea labourers parallel to those of elves and muggle-borns.

Tahsina Rahman (Director, Student Life), and Hasibul Hasan (Coordinator, Cofounder, Social Impact Lab) took the stage together to announce the winner- “Breaking the Spell of Prejudice: A Call for Justice in the Wizarding World.” The day ended with Jannatul Ferdows Aditi (Event Lead) expressing her gratitude for the love and patience given to her team throughout the delays.
