The Evolving Landscape of the Pharmaceutical Industry
On 8th May, Brac University’s School of Pharmacy organised a thoughtful seminar on “Changing Pharmaceutical Landscape of Bangladesh : Shaping Future Leaders”.
The event featured noteworthy personalities such as academicians, industry leaders and regulatory officials who discussed the progressive changes in the pharmaceutical industry. The pivotal roles they played in this industry including the recent advancements have been shed light on.
Several guests delivered their speeches on that occasion, creating an atmosphere of enthusiasm and intellectual engagement. Professor Md. Selim Reza (Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy, Dhaka University) who is also a member of Pharmacy Council of Bangladesh (PCB), discussed the threats the industry is facing due to the supply of replica medicines

Professor Choudhury Mahmood Hasan (Vice President, PCB) highlighted the advantages and disadvantages of the use of AI in the pharmaceutical education sector.
Md Nasser Shahrear Zahedee (Chairman, Radiant Pharmaceutical Ltd) emphasized the importance of students assimilating both theoretical and practical knowledge while implementing projects in the real world.
Syed S Kaiser Kabir (CEO & Managing Director, Renata PLC and Vice President, Bangladesh Association of Pharmaceutical Industries) and Abdul Muktadir (Managing Director, Incepta Pharmaceuticals Ltd and President, Bangladesh Association of Pharmaceutical Industries) shared their thoughts about the growth experienced by the pharmaceuticals sector in recent times. Lastly, Professor Syed Ferhat Anwar (Vice-Chancellor, Brac University) concluded with a speech urging students to devote themselves to global research and innovation.
