The Creative Brilliance of BracU at Ekushey Boi Mela 2025

Three books by BracU students and faculty, covering the genres of poetry, psychological stories, and translation, were published in this year’s Amar Ekushey Boi Mela.

Upama Adhikary’s (Graduate, EEE) ‘Hibernation’ is a collection of seven psychological short stories. She considers her childhood dream of becoming a writer to have worked like an undying spirit for her in publishing this book. She reflects, “These stories closely depict my melancholic self. I wish to reach the psychological story genre lover through my book.”

Maisha Rashid’s (Junior, MNS) self-help genre’s translated book “The Miracle Morning” first came in 2024’s book fair. She stated, “This book of Hal Elrod’s introduces a productive morning routine by focusing on six key practices known as SAVERS. Stepping into translation added an interesting experience to my bucket. I’m honored to bring the transformative experience of this book to Bengali readers.”

Apart from these two BracU students, Dr. Moiyen Zalal Chowdhury (Assistant Professor, ESS) published a collection of his poetry work “রাষ্ট্রের এক্সোডাস ও রুহানি ডিভোর্সের গল্প ০.১” under his poetic-nickname Sharat Chowdhury. This book brings romantic, political, and contemporary flavors and showcases futuristic views through an in-depth analysis of Bangladeshi society. His first book ‘অন্যমনস্ক শরৎ’ was published in 2010. While looking back at his journey as an author, he recalled how the divine power of books in discovering the true essence of life had inspired him to publish his second book after a 15-year-long break. In a conversation with BracU Express, he remarked, “I truly believe thought-provoking books, songs, and cinema have the charismatic power to expand people’s depth of thinking and understanding. That’s why I chose to write this book: to inspire people to think in depth.”
