From July to September, Vitalizers 2.0, the highly anticipated intra-university business case competition, presented by Bridge Pharmaceuticals Ltd. and hosted by the BRAC University Business & Economics Forum (BUBEF), took place at the campus. The event attracted business aficionados from all departments, with 20 teams only competing in the first round. After a rigorous selection process, five teams proceeded to the grand finale which took place on September 23 at the lecture theatre of the university.
The judging panel of Vitalizers 2.0 was particularly impressive, with various nationally and internationally acclaimed personalities gracing the stage. The final round saw the arrival of Toshan Paul (General Manager, Brand Marketing, PRAN), Atiar Rahman (Chief Financial Officer, Omera Petroleum), and Upala Shafique (Senior HR Business Partner, Syngenta Bangladesh Limited) as the judges.
Team “Tea Pls”, became the champion consisting of rookies Tahia Hossain (Sophomore, CSE), Wardat Iqbal (Sophomore, CSE), Richita Tarafder (Sophomore, BBS). While Team “Chaos” was placed as the 1st runner-up and Team “Fast and Curious” as the 2nd runner-up.
“Honestly, I did not expect to win at all, since this was our first time competing in a business case competition,” says Richita Tafader of team “Tea Pls.” Wardat Iqbal recalled, “It feels surreal when you think about how you just registered because your friends told you to participate, and now we are in a new Bangladesh. Back to our old lives but in a new manner, doing something for the first time in our lives and actually winning it, sharing the stage with the ones who fought beside you during the tough times, your fellow comrades.”
Vitalizers 2.0 saw the enthusiastic participation of many aspiring young entrepreneurs, helping the students flaunt their creativity, innovative thinking, and critical analysis skills. It serves as a great platform to promote the youth and expose them to the world of corporations. Future iterations of the contest are much looked forward to by the budding entrepreneurs ready to bring a change.
