Student to Faculty: Nazia Binte Mahmud
In another episode of Students to Faculty, we are joined by another faculty member from the ESS department. Nazia Binte Mahmud (Lecturer, ESS) completed her undergraduate degree in Economics before shifting disciplines to Anthropology for her master’s. She returned to BracU to teach anthropology, with a focus on her area of interest as well.
Regarding her shift from Economics into Anthropology, “When I went into ANT101, I realized this is what I had been looking for. Therefore, I took on as many extra credits as I could from Anthropology.”
Transitioning from student life into faculty, she said, “It all happened so suddenly, but I am really happy about it.” Nazia ma’am also feels that the shift from the old campus to the new one, now at Badda, also made her transition easier from being a student to a faculty member with the overall classrooms and ambience.
Looking back, she suggested that students be on the lookout for extracurriculars as an experience rather than solely focusing on academics.
