GSEA Awareness Campaign inspires young entrepreneurs

On September 2nd, Brac Business School (BBS), in collaboration with EO Bangladesh, hosted a motivational event titled “GSEA Awareness Campaign” consisting of esteemed business leaders. Young and thriving entrepreneurial minds were introduced to the Global Student Entrepreneurship Awards (GSEA) through the inspirational words and personal experiences of the distinguished speakers.

Iftekhar Ul Karim (Assistant Professor, BBS) started the event by presenting the idea of GSEA, a competition for college and university students, who operate their own business, to participate and nurture their entrepreneurial skills while juggling their respective degrees. He emphasized on the importance of articulating our visions into the real world problems, enhancing communication and networking skills while representing Bangladesh on a global level. Mostafa Quamrus Sobhan (Chair, GSEA Bangladesh), Tanazzul Ayman (Founder, Spark Infrastructure Ltd) and Amer Salim (Chair, Governance Team EO Bangladesh) further enlightened us about the 10th edition of GSEA, where students from worldwide will participate to introduce their ventures and thrive for their place in the business world. The national winner of GSEA Bangladesh will receive Tk 10,00,000 as seed support and will move on to the South Asian regional round from where the doors to the GSEA Global Finals in South Africa will be opened. The winner will be crowned the next global student entrepreneur along with the prize money of $50, 000 that would further foster the development of their venture.

Attendees were further motivated by one of BracU’s talented minds Soumik Hasan Shranto (Co-Founder, DuboTech) as he narrated the success story of winning the Bangladesh chapter of GSEA 9th edition through his venture “DuboTech”. Maimuna Rahman (Sophomore, ESS) shared, “I had not realised such a platform existed for dreamers like me. Hearing such insights ignited a passion to never take my ideas lightly.” The event ended with a Q&A session where the speakers highlighted the importance of thinking from a global perspective and following our passion.
