BracU students win at Plan for Change 2022

Students from Brac University made it to the Finale of Plan for Change 2022. The event was organised by Evolution 360 and Manusher Jonno Foundation on March 19th at Dhanmondi Ideal College. Evolution 360 is an organisation that offers local and international volunteering opportunities to adolescents. The competition exhibited the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) of the United Nations. The central purpose of the event was to find fitting solutions to combat the growing contemporary issues.

The contestants were provided scenarios of four cases that represented real-life problems. The cases were arranged thematically on gender equality – one of the SDGs. The four cases were the inclusivity issues for tribal women, evaluation of women’s everyday work, discrimination against the transgender community and the future of young girls below 18 years of age.

BracU students and students of the Institute of Business Administration Dhaka University (IBA, DU) and Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology (RUET) made it to the final round. The competition included 110 schools, madrasas, universities and colleges in Bangladesh. The first phase of the competition was held online, in which 40 teams were chosen for the final presentation. Team BracU came in second place; Md. Mostafijur Rahman (Junior, SoL), Farjana Alam (Junior, ENH), and Zakia Tabassum (Junior, ENH) led BracU to this brilliant accomplishment.
