Hult Prize kicks off with a vibrant info session
Hult Prize at Brac University officially kicks off its on campus activities on October 18th, in the Lecture Theatre towards the global entrepreneurship competition with a lively blend of energy, insight and innovation.The session started with a brief recount of Sir Fazle Hasan’s entrepreneurship journey and his contribution. Hult Prize is an international startup competition where students innovate, build and pitch their ideas. The event featured Md. Aminul Islam (Country Director, Hult Prize Bangladesh) as the guest speaker and Sadman Sadik, an online educator, as the keynote speaker.

Aminul recounted his own exciting journey from being the Chittagong University Campus Director in the Hult Prize Nationals in May to the Country Director, shared insights on why this event is considered the world’s largest student start up competition with a $1million USD prize funding. He further discussed the three pillars of actions and shared tips on the individual rounds. Aminul mentioned “PolyJute” (previous nationals winner from East Delta University) and emphasized on how a seemingly simple idea can lead to something big.

Fahad Muhammad Khan (Campus Director, Hult Prize & Senior, BBA) gave an overview of the local competition rounds. He talked about how the Hult Prize at BracU is always trying to take feedback in order to improve. Farhad confidently stated that, “We just need your efforts and the rest will be taken care of.”
The keynote speaker, Sadman Sadik’s engaging demeanour captivated the participants even more. From sharing fun anecdotes to pitching his own ideas and encouraging everyone to engage in insightful discussions over which business model would sell in local and global context, he captivated everyone with valuable lessons about the importance of heartfelt observations, community and innovation in solving real world challenges through entrepreneurship. Participants were constantly encouraged to ask questions, exchange ideas and challenge their entrepreneurial acumen.

The session ended with the keynote speaker rewarding top participants with gifts. According to Oishi Moni (Senior, CSE), “This session was extremely informative. I did not know sharing ideas with fellow participants could be this fun and helpful.”
