Biz Buzz: Bloom

A majority of the past two years of our lives have been spent indoors. However, that did not stop people from pursuing new projects. One such example is Mayesha Mahbub (Senior, ESS) who decided to share her passion for greenery last year by starting up Bloom.
“An amalgam of horticulture and indoor aesthetics” is a dynamic tagline that fits the attributes of Bloom perfectly. The home décor business line aims to deliver every bit of style, warmth, and beauty houseplants add to the setting of your residence.
In addition to offering customised, hand-painted modern terracotta pots, they also provide a variety of plants. Their soothing, vibrant designs are an instant mood-lifter in these stressful times.
Mayesha, like many owners of such wonderful ventures, faced her fair share of obstacles. Notably, securing a delivery service for such delicate plants amidst the pandemic was quite tricky. Nonetheless, all of Bloom’s products are packaged with care, and the delivery is ensured following proper safety guidelines. Since Bloom was initially funded by the savings of a university student, gathering capital was also one of the many hurdles encountered.
Needless to say, supporting businesses like Bloom is a worthwhile investment. A little love and care for a plant can work wonders in providing a sense of relief after a hectic day and is also a step towards a greener future.
