BRAC empowers youth through cross-campus collaboration
On July 1st, BRAC hosted “The BRIDGE Connect: Make Your Way” at the BRAC Centre, Mohakhali. It was designed to introduce BRAC’s missions, volunteer work, and career opportunities to students, and to foster a relationship between students, youth, and its various development as well as advocacy initiatives.
Brac university clubs, including IABC, BIZBEE, and the Photography Club, along with 34 clubs from 12 universities, were invited to the event. Typically, one focal panel member from each club was invited. IABC’s treasurer, Farzana Khan Zoie (Senior, CSE), proudly representing her club, believes that such an event is eye-opening and thought-provoking. “As someone keen on communication and youth empowerment, the session spoke volumes to me,” she says.

There were sessions on career and volunteering opportunities, insightful discussions with BRAC’s youth development and employer branding teams, networking with club members, and an early glimpse of the “Sir Fazle Hasan Abed Knowledge Hub”. The programme offered social campaign collaboration opportunities, internships, and more. Some internships included the Moner Jotno, Career Hub, and the BRIDGE Internship Programme. The session provided an understanding of developmental work and opportunities to align academics with purposeful initiatives.
BRAC’s collaboration with career services and clubs, along with launching open registration for future sessions of social media campaigns, can be effective in reaching more students. Zoie encourages juniors to stay connected with club networks, apply for such programs, and use platforms like LinkedIn, while sharing reflections to motivate peers. She hopes that future editions of such events will be open to all students. This will give diverse youth the opportunity to feel motivated and driven toward their goals.
