BracU dominates in YuNet Inter University Esports Club Championship
On 12th December, YuNet Inter University Esports Club Championship brought together the enthusiastic minds of the digital gaming community from across Bangladesh for the final catch-up of the month-long tournament at IDEB Bhaban, Dhaka. The title sponsor was Airtel. Sixteen universities’ leading e-sports clubs, including BracU, participated in the tournament. It highlighted the growing structure, discipline, competitiveness and potential of university-level e-sports.
Among the participating universities, BracU lifted the trophy with their consistent gameplay. Their achievements included the Club Championship Title, Champion of the MLBB segment, EA Sports FC 25 and the e-Football segment. The BGES game developer award was also presented at the summit.
The university esports team saw several notable individual performances across different titles. Shuaib Akther Seyam (Senior, CSE) claimed the e-Football Championship with a steady performance. In FC25, Mir Mainul Ahmed (Sophomore, EEE) secured the championship after a consistent run, as Muhaimen Khan Reyon (Sophomore, CSE) advanced to the quarterfinals.
The team events brought further success for the university. The MLBB group emerged as champions through disciplined gameplay, featuring Anindya Aloysius Gomes (Junior, CSE), Mohammad Sayed Safi Sams (Senior, CSE), Tashrik Ibrahim (Senior, EEE), Irfat Zaman Nafees (Graduate, BBA), and Muhammad Abdul Moin Khan (Fresher, CSE).
In Valorant, the team finished as second runner up after a strong showing, represented by Muhaimen Khan Reyon (Sophomore, CSE), Mantaka Rahman Safin (Junior, BBA), Arunav Roy (Sophomore, CS), Shehraj Nayeem Khan (Senior, CS), Rudro Mohammad Samiul Haque (Senior, CS), MD Monem Shahriar (Fresher, CSE), and Mahmudur Rahman (Senior, CSE). The PUBG team, consisting of Kazi Imdadul Hassan (Senior, Pharmacy), Mahadi Hasan Mehdi (Junior, ENH), Waliullah Fahad (Fresher, CSE,), Shadman Sadat Shopnil (CSE), and Asifur Rahman Bhuiyan (Junior, CSE) placed eighth.
Muhaimen shared that among all the tournaments he participated in this year, this one was the most well-organised, and the organisers were supportive, which made the experience enjoyable. These sorts of tournaments pave the way for a dream in the participants. He aspires to pursue his postgraduate degree abroad in Esports Management. “I am eager to invest my time, effort and skills into the esports industry to contribute to its growth meaningfully.” This exemplifies that creative minds shatter the limits for success and chase their passion. It showcased the competitive potential of esports in Bangladesh. The event set a benchmark for future organisers through strong participation, diverse game titles and outstanding performances.
