BUBEF Hosts “Outside the Box” for aspiring creators
On August 20th, the Brac University Business and Economics Forum (BUBEF) hosted the third season of “Outside the Box”, inviting creators from across the community to share their insights. The panel featured notable creators including Showmik Ahmed, Rashik Mohtasin (Magic Razik), Ishrat Zaheen Ahmed, and Mahim Ahmed (MahimMakes).
Each of them had some words of advice for the excited audience. Mahim, a BRACU alumnus, encouraged the audience to follow their passions, sharing his own story of leaving a corporate career to create culinary content. He reflected on how his marketing classes and faculty helped him with his ideas as well as brand collaborations. Ishrat highlighted the benefit of family support, noting, “Initially, my parents were reluctant, but eventually they were able to understand I was serious.”
Rashik stressed the importance of consistency in content creation. “From my early days, even on the toughest days, I always made sure to put up one video every day to keep up my engagement,” he shared. On advice regarding how to stand out, Showmik offered, “There are so many great photographers, graphic designers, and others who are putting out great stuff out there; you need to be able to do something unique and catchy from the rest to grab attention.”
Azwad Mostafiz Ador (Junior, BBS) reflected on the session, “I’ve watched them through my phone for so long, and it was amazing to meet them in person. We got invaluable insights on industry and content strategy for future content creators wishing to establish themselves in this sphere.” The event provided valuable insights and a chance for the audience to meet their favorite influencers.
