Nasheeta’s balance of passion and potential in her music

Faheema Nasheeta Rahman, a sophomore in BBS, is a self-taught musician who created NASH Music, a Facebook page where she shares her original songs and cover performances. Her interest in music was sparked as a young girl by the influence of her “Boro Fupa.” She wrote her first song, “Tumi Ar Nei,” as a tribute to her late uncle, whose guitar she still uses today. Her musical journey started in 2006 when she was just four years old, and with her parents’ support, she has come this far today.

Her biggest inspiration for creating music was how her uncle converted his emotions and feelings into lyrics whenever he sang. This made her believe that music can motivate people to achieve their goals. Trying to immerse herself in the lyrics and rhythm of the music has helped connect with it. Bangla acoustics, such as pop and traditional classics, are what she feels most comfortable performing. According to Nasheeta, Bangla songs capture emotions the best.

The best part about Nasheeta’s music is that she does not adhere to one specific genre. In 2016, she started covering electronic dance music (EDM), which failed because proper instruments were inaccessible. However, in 2020, she started mixing her songs with various music-making software online, which is how she created remixes. Her friends and family positively took the shift from acoustic to EDM.

Balancing audience expectations and staying true to herself has been the biggest challenge. As she is self-taught, Nasheeta lacks proper music education or an adequate device to film covers, making it difficult for Her to meet her audience’s expectations. She receives various comments on her social media platforms and never ceases to use them for personal growth.

Collaborating with Arnob would be a dream come true for this aspiring musician. As for international singers, Ed Sheeran and music production, Marshmello, Chain Smokers, and Martin Garrix are on her list to collaborate.

The song “Mon Chacchena” is very special to Nasheeta. She made it on the spot during her residential semester at TARC with the help of some of her friends. The video featuring them is also the most viewed on her Facebook page.

Nasheeta has many interesting projects in the future. Ten projects with international artists will be featured very soon. A few originals and some acoustic covers are also coming.

According to her, Minar Rahman and Armeen Musa are shaping the scene today for Bangladeshi music as they maintain their roots. She also wishes to collaborate with both of them.

Staying patient and consistent is one piece of advice she would like to pass on to aspiring musicians of this age. It is essential to focus on yourself and stay true to what you want to showcase your talents.
