Team Atlas Strikes Gold for BracU

What’s more powerful than 1,000 inventions? One that changes lives. Brac University innovators have made their mark on the world stage, but this time, with gold. Ahamad Sajid Rejwan (Junior, EEE), Md. Istiaque Ahmed (Junior, CSE), KM Fahim Ashab (Sophomore, CSE), and Jubayer Sunny (Senior, CSE), led Team Atlas to victory at the prestigious World Invention Creativity Olympic (WICO) 2025 in South Korea.

WICO was held at the Seoul National University of Education where from over 20 countries more that 1000 teams participated. Despite impeccable competition, Team Atlas clinched the Gold Award with their invention “FARMAX,” which is a smart system that optimizes agricultural resources using real-time data. Designed to help small and medium-scale farmers, FARMAX saves water, seeds, and power, increasing yield while reducing cost.

Brac University’s Team Atlas thrived through collaboration. Each member took charge of a different aspect, starting from coding and device-building to data analysis and presentation. Reflecting on the journey, Sajid shared, “Simple and useful ideas can win. If your idea helps people in real life, others will understand and appreciate it, even across borders.” Sajid mentioned what truly set FARMAX apart was its real-time resource optimization, smartly managing water, seeds, and energy to reduce waste and boost yield. With this cutting-edge technology, the project carries immense potential for transforming the future of small and medium-scale farming, both in Bangladesh and beyond.

As Team Atlas continues forward, its journey will no doubt fuel the dreams of future inventors at Brac University and beyond, those bold enough to build change, one smart solution at a time.
