Innovation Meets Sustainability at BUEEC’s Spectra 3.0: Aronno
On November 4th, BRAC University Electrical and Electronic Club (BUEEC) launched their flagship event ‘Spectra 3.0: Aronno’ at the Multipurpose Hall, BRAC University. This year’s event highlighted the harmony between technology and nature through e-waste management and sustainable innovation. Sponsored by Fabotronix Academy and Project Kaizen, the event boasted a prize pool of 45,000 BDT across 5 exciting segments promoting creativity and eco-conscious tech solutions: Roots of Innovation (project showcasing), Soccer Wild League (soccer bot), Wild Line Rush (line follower robot), EcoCircuit Clash (circuit solving), and The Wild Vision (advertisement making).

The event commenced with a speech from Rayadh Abrar (Sophomore, EEE), who was also the CEO of Project Kaizen. The first competition, Wild Line Rush, featured eleven teams competing across three rounds. The competition was overseen by Mohaimenul Islam (Senior Lecturer, EEE) along with several esteemed faculty members, as teams were gradually eliminated with each challenging round. The Wild League had five rounds with matches of 5 minutes being held between two teams at a time. The first round began with 16 teams squaring off against each other fiercely.

On the other hand, the EcoCircuit Clash competition’s three rounds were held on the 11th floor labs. The Project Showcase segment began shortly after lunch, alongside the Soccer Wild League in the center of the hall. After many twists and turns, and a match so intense it kept tearing the polystyrene field, Team One Piece emerged victorious. Adding to the day’s vibrancy, BracU MONON lit up the stage with cultural performances.
The prize-giving ceremony began around four o’clock, with Guest of Honour Md. Mosaddequr Rahman (Professor, Chairperson, EEE), visiting all the projects and presenting awards to the champions. Shahed Alam (Senior Lecturer, EEE) and CEO of Fabotronix Academy shared his decade-long journey in hardware design. He, along with Project Kaizen, was honoured with a crest in appreciation of their support. Mosaddequr sir advised young innovators. “Think like an innovator, think like an entrepreneur and be your own boss.” On behalf of BUEEC, he was also presented with a crest, tying a bow on a day dedicated to innovation and technology.
