BracU’s Ornee garners pride through achievement at GigGeni
Toushik Islam Ornee (Senior, BBS) secured the Runners-Up at GigGeni Talentverse on November 11th. The nationwide sales and marketing competition offered finalists membership, networking opportunities, internships, job offers, and certificates, with a prize pool of ৳150,000 BDT for the winners. The event was presented as “Bangladesh’s very first competitive platform for emerging marketers and corporate innovators,” targeting fresh graduates and interns in sales, marketing, or business roles. IT Beats, GigGeni, and North South University (NSU) organised it jointly, acting as the host in association with its Career and Placement Centre (CPC).

The competition took place in four stages, beginning with an online exam, followed by a video submission round as the quarter-final. The semi-final round with the top 30 participants took place online. The event attracted contestants from universities across the country, and the grand finale was attended by notable figures from Bangladesh’s business sector, with an attendance of around 500, including, but not limited to, the CEO of Grameenphone and the Marketing Head of Akij Group.
After two weeks of a rigorous selection process, he reached the final round. Incorporating the theme of the Talent Verse, ‘Step in. Stand out. Sell your story’, Toushik stood out during the final presentation, earning the position of runner-up while representing BracU. Judges evaluated each participants’ based on their creativity, originality, market understanding, analytical thinking, strategic feasibility, execution strategy, presentation skills, confidence, professionalism, and individual insights.
