IEEE Computer Society Award 2022

IEEE Computer Society BRACU Student Branch Chapter has been endowed with the award for the “Best CS Student Branch Chapter (Honorable Mention) 2022” by the IEEE Computer Society Bangladesh Chapter on 28th January 2023. This year the four Executive  Committee members of this branch chapter were Chair Azwaad Labiba Mohiuddin  (Senior, CSE), Vice Chair Atanu Roy (Senior, CSE), Secretary Silma Binta Shoeb (Senior, CSE) and Treasurer G.M. Arafat Rahman (Senior, CSE). Leading the branch chapter with around 180 computer science enthusiast student members, this award was achieved for the valuable contribution of the executive committee to the IEEE Computer Society Bangladesh Chapter in 2022 by ensuring proficient and comprehensive events for students throughout the year. They attribute this award to the expert guidance and initiatives of the Chapter Advisor Annajiat Alim Rasel (Senior Lecturer, Department of CSE) who has been awarded likewise as the “Best CS Student Branch Chapter Advisor (Honorable Mention) 2022”.

Each year, this award is granted to the student branch chapter for recognising their contribution to the IEEE Computer Society Bangladesh Chapter. It is an award that rewards the exceptional performance of our future generation. Here, regarding this accomplishment, Chapter Advisor Annajiat Alim Rasel (Senior Lecturer, Department of CSE) quoted, “In 2022 we had to make a transition from online to offline activities.  It has been a delight for us to observe a group of industrious students working towards various achievements and professional development.” Azwaad Labiba Mohiuddin (Senior, CSE), the Chair of IEEE Computer Society Brac University Student Branch Chapter for the year 2022, also addressed this achievement, “Alhamdulillah! Serving as the Executive Committee of the IEEE CS BRACU ExCom 2022 was a challenging task for us with the post-pandemic transition at hand and I am elated that our efforts were valued by IEEE CS BDC with an honourable mention.”
