SpotlightStudent to Faculty

Student to Faculty: Addrita Shams

In this eleventh addition to our nostalgic yet navigational series, we delve into the insights of Addrita Shams (Lecturer, ESS). Having experienced student life in the same classrooms, she returned to guide students to their full potential.

She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from Brac University in 2021 and a Master’s degree from the University of Liverpool in 2023, supported by a Postgraduate Global Advancement Scholarship. Her research interests lie in labour economics, public policy analysis, international trade, and the Bangladesh garments industry. Drawing from her experiences in such specialised fields, she advises, “I always suggest to the students to try to stick to a path, and have your transcript indicate something, rather than chasing an empty CGPA with random courses.”

Her expertise goes beyond the classroom, and her journey captures the essence of growth, passion, and coming full circle. She hopes her students remember that having fun with friends while learning is more important.
