Bit Battles: Brightest minds coded their way to glory
Brac University Computer Club (BUCC) presented its eponymous programming competition, Bit Battles-2025, which invited the brightest minds of the country to succeed in a competition reminiscent of the ICPC-style problem-solving contest. Empowered by Phitron and sponsored by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Bit Battles helped cultivate thinking and resilience amongst undergraduate students. The contest had two phases: an online qualifier on July 11th and a final on-site round on July 18th. More than a hundred teams played online, and the winners reached the campus showdown.

Respective academicians and industrial leaders were in attendance to appreciate diligence and intelligence. ASM Mainuddin Monem (Managing Director, Abdul Monem Ltd) was present as the chief guest, while the guest panel included more great names such as Imran Bin Azad (Senior Lecturer, CSE), Md. Akhtaruzaman Adnan (Senior Lecturer, CSE), both judges and problem setters of ICPC, and Dr. Mohammad Kaykobad (Professor, CSE), who delivered words of inspiration: “Humans are the superior creature not for their body strength but for their brain.” One of the organizers, Md. Afnan Hossain Rakib (Junior, CSE) shared, “Our main goal was to enhance the competitive programming culture at BracU. I’m optimistic about taking this event to national platforms shortly.”
