BracU SoL team shines at BUP National Law Fest

Brac University School of Law (SoL) was honored to take part in the BUP National Moot Court Competition as part of the BUP National Law Fest, held from 11th to 13th September. One team from each university was allowed to compete in the competition. More than 30 institutions in the country took part, and all of them made a memorial to try to gain national recognition.

The BracU SoL team consisted of Farhat Maisha Arpa (Senior, SoL) as researcher, Tabassum Hasnat (Junior, SoL) as the 1st oralist, and Md. Irfan Zamil (Junior, SoL) as the 2nd oralist, under the guidance of the team coach, Md. Mostofa Hosain (Assistant Professor, SoL).

Competing against more than 30 submissions, BracU’s memorial was selected among the Top 16 and went on to earn the Best Memorial (Respondent) Award. Another individual milestone in the team was the achievement of the highly coveted Best Researcher Award, received by Farhat Maisha Arpa. It was her first mooting experience as a researcher. It was also the first mooting experience for Tabassum and Irfan.

The team went through the preliminary and quarter final rounds on 12th September and performed well in the semi-final rounds on 13th September. “From starting without any mooting experience to winning the Best Memorial Award in just 2.5 weeks, this competition was challenging but extremely rewarding,” said Tabbassum, reflecting on the team’s journey. The success of the team showcases the hard work of not just the team members but also of BracU in the countrywide mooting arenas.
