From classroom to courtroom: BracU SoL leads at bootcamp

The theme for this year’s HROC Legal Skills Boot Camp 2025 was “Learn. Link. Lead.”. The residential programme took place at the Suvarnagrama Amusement Park & Resorts in Bhulta, Narayanganj from 18th to 20th September. Barrister Nasir Uddin Ahmed Ashim (Advocate, Appellate Division, Supreme Court), was the chief guest at the opening ceremony and for the next 3 days, 10 teams of students from 20 universities from across Bangladesh had the opportunity to be part of workshops and interactive activities focused on applied legal practices, teamwork, and leadership among emerging law students, conducted by experienced legal professionals, mentors, and facilitators like Muhammad Ekramul Haque (Acting Dean, University of Dhaka Law department) and SM Shafaet Hossen (Joint Secretary (Drafting), Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs) and others.

Team Sky Blue was one of the 10 teams, comprising students from Eastern University, Comilla University, East West University, Bangladesh Maritime University, Daffodil International University, International Islamic University Chittagong, Bangladesh Islami University and Brac University, with Ahmed Ibnul Wasee (Sophomore, SoL) leading the team. Participants were offered hands-on simulations and group activities focused on advocacy and human rights, ending with competitions that recognised the top-performing teams for their efforts in 4 categories: “Team with Distinction”, “Best Activity Excellence Team”, “Best Academic Excellence Team” and “Best Spirit Team”, with each awardee receiving a medal and a certificate.

Wasee and his team stood out for their consistent engagement, collaboration, and outstanding performance in all activities and took home the “Best Activity Excellence Team” at the closing ceremony, graced by the esteemed guests.
