The need for a robust legal framework in Bangladesh is growing along with the increasing significance of cybersecurity and the rising risk of data breaches. Barrister Tasnuva Shelly emphasized, “Although the nation still lags in cybersecurity, progress is happening. Banks are already implementing advanced cybersecurity programs, but due to inadequate legal provisions, they often rely on foreign law firms from Singapore or Hong Kong. Law schools must work towards giving the country more cyber law experts to meet the demands of a rapidly digitizing society.”  Encouraging interdisciplinary learning, Barrister Shelly expressed her vision to launch a hackathon bringing together law, business, and computer science students to develop innovative ways to promote cyber awareness

Imam Hasan Sadril (Senior, SoL) said, “I thought that the only way I could stay safe online was by avoiding sharing passwords. However, after learning about digital rights and data breaches, I realized that it goes far beyond that. I’ve started paying closer attention to app permissions.” In addition to enhancing the students’ comprehension of cyber law, the session encouraged them to consider their own part in creating a safe digital future.
