The launching event of Resonance volume 4
On November 20th, the launching of Resonance Volume 4 took place in the English and Humanities Department’s (ENH) seminar room at Brac University. Due to the pandemic, the routine launch of Resonance was paused with the fourth iteration being the first performed offline after a two-year hiatus.
The Resonance publication includes a collection of English and Bengali creative pieces written by BracU students that showcase artistic talents amidst the student body. Professor Syed Manzoorul Islam, a writer, scholar and art critic, joined as the Chief Guest. After the official launch of Resonance Vol. 4, the event started with his brief speech and thoughts about Resonance. The welcome address was delivered by Lecturer Jahin Kaiissar while Senior Lecturer Rukhsana Chowdhury credited the journal’s success to the inspiration and support of the department’s chairperson, Professor Firdous Azim. In the presence of the student body and other respected faculties, a few students recited their pieces to the audience followed by lively music and dance performances. The recitations portrayed the various shades of human emotions and everyday life whilst the creative artwork displayed in the journal and on the walls of the ENH department brought the idea of Resonance to life as a medium embracing creativity.
