Rising Star 24 Curtain Falls

This is it. The final hurdle one must overcome to taste the sweet nectar of victory. The roads here have been ragged and rough but they lead to an oasis few ever reach. The proceedings began with the finals for female badminton wherein Samira Alom Sarah overcame the formidable Sunjana Huq Oishi in a tightly contested battle. In the male segment, Rinchen Mikey battled through physical issues to defeat Md. Hasibullah Khan Alvie in another nail biting procedure. Table tennis was no slouch either, as Mir Narmir Faiyaz defeated Tysir Zaman Afnan and Farisha Ahmed overcame Sylvia Tasnim Simren to become the champions in Table Tennis. The carrom games were the last to conclude and had the loudest cheers. Tameba Saifullah beat Tanjin Sultana in a hard-fought match for the Carrom Crown. The cream of the crop however, was the males carrom final between Ahammad Ullah Atik and S. M. Safi. The game was so competitive that neither of them could hold onto a lead for long as the other would simply rally and come back stronger than before. After much back and forth, it was Atik who reigned victorious as the champion of Carrom.

The award giving ceremony started with  a sense of happiness and agony as the participants, runners up and the champions mounted the stage with deafening cheers and applause to receive their awards from the respected registrar Dr. David Dowland and the Director of Student life, Tahsina Rahman. Followed by some words of appreciation and concluding remarks, curtains fell on a week long neck to neck competitive games which kept the Multipurpose Hall beaming with excitement. However, the organisers prepared a cultural segment to celebrate the falling of the curtain with a sweet note. Beginning with a melodious solo performance and moving to duets and choir. With every passing note the singers mesmerised the audience.
