Exploring Future Careers: Brac University Business and Economics Forum’s Career Accelerator Program

On the 23rd of August, the Brac University Business and Economics Forum, in partnership with Syngenta Bangladesh, presented an illuminating “Career Accelerator” program at the prestigious UB2 auditorium. The event welcomed esteemed guests, including Alam Ishaq Chowdhury and Shahnila Ahmed, alongside Syngenta’s Assistant Manager, Md. Shafiur Rahman.

Kicking off the proceedings, Alam Ishaq Chowdhury, Syngenta Bangladesh’s Country HR Head, shared a comprehensive overview of Syngenta’s fifty-year journey and its profound impact on the global agricultural landscape. With insights into the company’s multifaceted operations, methodologies, and expansive outreach, Chowdhury provided a compelling glimpse into Syngenta’s role. Shahnila Ahmed, Syngenta Bangladesh’s HR Business Partner, then took the stage.

Ahmed’s presentation delved into the crucial importance of such sessions, leveraging her own professional journey. She succinctly elucidated the intricacies that define employer expectations during interviews, offering valuable tips, interview etiquette pointers, and confidence-building techniques. Addressing the art of crafting an impactful CV, Ahmed guided attendees through the essentials of CV creation, encompassing the initiation process, critical do’s and don’ts, key focal areas, and strategies for crafting an impressive curriculum vitae. Ahmed’s session culminated in guidance tailored for those contemplating a career shift.

Beyond shedding light on these essential career insights, both distinguished guests introduced attendees to the diverse employment avenues within Syngenta Bangladesh. The event concluded with an interactive Q&A session, enabling participants to further engage with the seasoned professionals. Suporna Latif, the Branding Manager, highlighted the intrinsic value of such sessions for students, emphasizing that these interactions offer a realistic preview of the professional landscape, serving as vital preparation for their future endeavours.
