BHASHAR JONAKI: A Book Donation Drive by Brac University Community Service Club

This spring, the Brac University Community Service Club is holding a book donation event from 13th to 20th February. The club focuses on spreading the light of knowledge with the title concept “BHASHAR JONAKI: Tobu O Pori”. 

Through this event, BUCSC aims in inculcating wisdom in order to help the underprivileged children enjoy their right to education and provide an equal access to educational opportunities for every child. The donated books will be distributed to the underprivileged children from grade 1 to 10 at Doel School library. Most of the books collected during the event will also be distributed to the schools located in rural areas across Bangladesh.

The club has arranged 3 available booths where interested people can drop off their books at the Building 2 Cafeteria and Building 2 lift lobby anytime between 10 A.M. to 4 P.M.

Initially, this year’s book donation was decided to be held till 16th February. However, after seeing the unceasing enthusiasm and overwhelming response of the student community and the faculties within the campus, the club has decided to extend the event until the 2Oth of February. The club has also previously organized a book donation drive.

Mr. Mohammad Aminul Islam of BIL, the club advisor has extended his help and also donated several books. Respected faculty members such as Dr. Mahboob Hossain, Dr Nadia Sultana, Dina Hossain, Roohi Huda and other faculties have also shown their support and donated over 100 books.
