BracU student declared Best Entrepreneur in the country, wins 9th National GSE Awards
Soumik Hasan Shranto (Junior, CSE), a talented student from BRAC University, has emerged as the champion of the 9th National Global Student Entrepreneur Awards (GSEA), organized by EO Bangladesh on January 19, 2025. Shranto is the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of the innovative project DuboTech, a groundbreaking initiative focused on underwater technology that impressed the judges and secured him the top spot. Moreover, he won prize money of Tk 5 Lakh and has been qualified to compete next for the GSEA Global quarter-final to be held in Nagpur, India, on the 10th of March with contestants from three other countries: India, Sri Lanka, and Nepal. The runner-up was Mohammad Mohiuddin Shourav from (IBA) Dhaka University for his business “Wastech.”
Highlighting the nation’s brightest young entrepreneurial talents, the Global Student Entrepreneur Awards (GSEA) is organized by the Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) Bangladesh to celebrate innovation, perseverance, and students’ entrepreneurial spirit, balancing ventures with their academic pursuits. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed, Honorable Adviser to the Ministry of Finance, and other esteemed guests, adding prestige to the evening.
Dubotech Digital Limited, a startup founded by BRAC University alumni, gained remarkable recognition by appearing on “Shark Tank Bangladesh,” the local version of the renowned business reality show.
