BUCSC Leads the Way in Spreading Knowledge Through Book Donations
The Brac University Community Service Club (BUCSC) is back with ভাষার জোনাকি: তবুও পড়ি, a heartfelt initiative on February 24th and 26th at the D-zone, 6th floor of Brac University. Held annually in honor of International Mother Language Day, this event spreads the joy of reading and the gift of knowledge, especially to children who lack access to books.
For this event, BUCSC collects pre-loved books from students to share with those in need, joining hands with Rokomari’s Book Donation Drive to bring the magic of stories to young hearts. Rokomari is on a one-year campaign to visit remote areas to find schools without library facilities and create libraries there. BUCSC is planning on giving some of the books to পথের ইশকুল in Gulistan, which is an educational program devoted to educating children without homes. “We will give books to পথের ইশকুল and also Rokomari so they can give them in other rural areas,” said Sumaiya Azad Srabony (Junior, PHR). The donation is going to take place on the 28th of February.
To make giving even more rewarding, Rokomari is offering appreciation certificates, bookmarks, and discount coupons to thank donors for their generosity. It’s a token of gratitude for an act of kindness, one more reason to be part of this wonderful cause! The donors are eager to donate the books they once treasured, with the hope of sharing the stories and knowledge they have gained rather than having the books collect dust on their shelves.
Many volunteers from BUCSC are working tirelessly to make this event successful and their welcoming attitude toward the donors is heartwarming.
