Inside BracU’s newly launched digital parking systems

Recently, BracU has introduced a new automated parking management system in its parking facilities, which includes scanning and e-ticketing technologies. There have been mixed responses among the students; some highlighted that the traffic congestion has been busier than before, largely due to users getting accustomed to the new process.

“Although the structure of the system seems to be efficient, it causes huge road congestion inside the parking lot, yet the system seems necessary. With better management and people getting used to the system with time, the situation will become much simpler and more reliable,” expressed Mashfia Mahfuz (Sophomore, ENH).

Nime Hassan (Senior Officer, Brac University Transport Operations Department) shared, “Our main focus now is to go cashless. As for now, we have the option for bkash, and we plan to introduce NFC bank cards in the future for smoother transactions.”

Meanwhile, an important issue of finding student vehicles in the basements has been addressed by Mijan Hosen (Assistant Manager, Brac University Transport Operations Department), as he reveals, “We are bringing in marked pillar systems and dividing the parking lot into zones very soon. It would be great if students proceeded directly to their designated parking spots, which may help reduce traffic congestion at the main gate and make our automation system and payment system more efficient.”

Through the collaborative efforts of the students and management, traffic congestion and related issues can be addressed and eradicated over time, making everyone’s lives much easier.
