NesConnect paves career paths for students

On July 22nd, Nestle Bangladesh conducted NesConnect, a session focusing to inspire students about careers, leadership and opportunities in the FMCG world. Organised by Brac University Business Club (BIZ BEE), the event kicked off with Sazia Sanzana (HR Officer- Recruitment & Employer Branding, Nestle Bangladesh) elaborating on Nestle’s history; how it expanded all over the world and has transitioned beyond a plethora of food brands. She also delved into how the company nurtures talent and its values are rooted in diversity, among other things. The company’s sustainable practices were also brought to light, stressing on its aim to be carbon neutral by 2050.

The seminar proceeded after a fun game of Kahoot with the audience followed by the introduction of BracU alumni Mehboob Hafiz (Manager of Sales Capability and Excellence, Nestle Bangladesh). He encouraged students to stay in touch with extracurricular activities and make valuable connections. Mirwat Hossain (Senior Strategic Buyer, Nestle Bangladesh) suggested fresh graduates to stay patient and persistence; his speech advocated for gaining practical experience through internships and independent projects. The discussion progressed as Hosne Ara Loma (HR Director, Nestle Bangladesh) shared her career journey from Unilever to Nestle. She recounted how her decision was difficult yet rewarding, nudging students to chase purpose over monetary outcomes. Her speech included the importance of soft skills, teamwork and problem solving abilities, and advice to the youth — never shy away from learning.

The event wound down with a Q&A session, leaving students motivated and acquainted with several avenues for their future.
