Student to Faculty: Syed Akib Hossain
In the latest season of Student to Faculty, we feature Syed Akib Hossain (Lecturer, SLS), whose journey from being a student at BRACU to joining its teaching community has been shaped by years of learning and exploration.
He completed his undergraduate degree in Biotechnology from BRACU and later went on to pursue a Master’s at North South University, followed by an MSc in Molecular Biology at the University of Debrecen under the prestigious Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship. Today, his research interest spans molecular biology, immunogenetics, and computational biology.
In this conversation, we get to hear about his experiences navigating academia in a new culture, finding his place in research, discovering his interest in teaching, and eventually establishing himself in the field of biotechnology. Drawing from the challenges and turning points that shaped his own career, he advises students, “Exploring yourself during undergraduate and postgraduate study is very important to align with your passion, which drives you to overcome challenges.”
