Bangladesh AI Summit: Shaping A Smarter Digital Future
On May 8th, The Bangladesh AI Summit 2025 was held at Brac University, where top minds of the nation were brought together to explore the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) across spheres. Bangladesh Brand Forum (BBF), in collaboration with Brac Business School (BBS) organized this summit that worked as a major platform for the journey of Bangladesh in becoming a digitally advanced economy. The event was graced by key figures such as Shish Haider Chowdhury (Secretary, Information & Communication Division, Ministry of Posts, Telecommunication and Information Technology) and Major General Md Emdadul Bari (Retd) (Chairman, Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission) among others.
The summit featured energetic programs: 4 keynote sessions then 2 panel discussions, 5 insight sessions, 2 case studies, and a fireside chat, all of which focused on integrating AI in education, healthcare, agriculture, manufacturing and fintech, allowing participants to participate in policy discussions.

In his introductory address, Shariful Islam (Founder and Managing Director, BBF) stated, “Artificial Intelligence is reshaping our industries, revolutionising governance, and creating pathways to solve problems that once seemed impossible.” Speakers highlighted how AI is no longer a concept that is futuristic but an ongoing force with the potential to drive inclusive progress and ethical innovation. The summit also highlighted the importance of developing an AI-skilled workforce and incorporating policies of national-level structures.
The event came to an end with the celebration of AI Hackathon Award Ceremony, recognising six teams from universities across Bangladesh for their solutions driven by AI in complex spheres. Each winning team was awarded BDT 1 lakh after developing their visions through guidance and meticulous evaluation.
This event set a new benchmark by bringing innovators and policymakers together, reinforcing the dedication to equipping AI for a smarter and fairer future.
