BracU felicitates excellence in research
On April 24th, “Quality Journal Publication Award 2025” took place to celebrate the astounding impact on research made by 57 faculty members of Brac University. The ceremony was inaugurated by Professor AKM Abdul Malek Azad (Professor, EEE) who is the Chair of Research Metrics Committee (RMC) and Dr. David Dowland (Registrar, BracU).

Among the faculties who published 145 research papers, 74 of them were ranked within top 10% of Q1 journals in Scopus, a testament to their dedication towards research excellence. With 43 awards Brac Business School (BBS) became the highest recipient of awards showing their unparalleled dedication for research. The award-winning researchers addressed multiple issues such as health, finance, environment, and even development. Researchers with publications in the top 1% of Q1 journals in Scopus shared their insights in the plenary session. On the other hand at parallel sessions, the researchers gave oral presentations on their 145 papers and engaged in discussions and shared ideas with peers from diverse fields.

Key speakers like Professor Dr Muhammad Saidur Rahman (Member, University Grants Commission) emphasised on the recognition of research-driven innovation by the Government of Bangladesh, highlighting the value of Brac University and their efforts towards a research-commitment society. Dr. Syed Ferhat Anwar (Vice-Chancellor, Brac University) remarked, “The core foundation of education and research as part of human development, is utterly necessary.” The ceremony ended with insightful remarks from Professor Raushanara Akter (Acting Chairperson, School of Pharmacy and Member, RMC).
